Orlando Self-Care Spot: Cortney Singleton at The Salt Room

Orlando Self-Care Spotlight: Cortney Singleton at The Salt Room

By: Lauran Hahn, LMHC

We are continuing the series on Orlando Self-Care Spotlight. This series is all about highlighting local businesses that have been nominated by other Orlando therapist and professionals as incredible self-care spots. This week we’re excited to highlight Cortney Singleton, an Acupuncture Physician at The Salt Room.

We are grateful for these local Orlando business owners because they have dedicated their lives to nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of humans. Because of their work, they are supporting the people in our Orlando community to live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives.

Because healing inspires healing, the work these local businesses owners do extends well beyond our Orlando community and continues to positively impact people across the planet. And for that, the team at Mindful Living Counselor Orlando wants to say, “Thank You!

In this spotlight, we’re happy to highlight Cortney Singleton, an Acupuncture Physician at The Salt Room. I had the great fortune of visiting Cortney for personalized treatment. From the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of ease. There were several smiling faces ready to greet and get me settled in before I met with Cortney.

During my appointment, Cortney took the time to listen and understand what my body needed. She recommended that the best option for me was a combination of both cupping and acupuncture. When she finished, I immediately felt less tension in the problem areas we had discussed. The combination of both services gave me the lasting results I was looking for. The whole experience was fantastic and I highly recommend visiting Cortney.

What is the most frequent compliment you get about your space for self-care?

I practice acupuncture at the Salt Room, which is a healing center that offers several modalities for self-care. Patients who come to visit me stay and enjoy many of the other services we have to offer. So a day of self-care can start with acupuncture done by me, then a massage, and can end with a visit to an infrared sauna or the salt room. It’s a day of complete relaxation.

What is your favorite self-care service item and why?

I would say that my favorite service is acupuncture in combination with cupping because of the health benefits. I find that there are so many benefits to receiving acupuncture which range from pain relief to improved mental health.

Why is your business a great self-care spot for people with anxiety?

Acupuncture addresses anxiety, stress, and depression and helps to heal the root cause and onset of anxiety. There has been such an increase in these issues since the pandemic.

When is the most chill time to visit?

I recommend visiting me in the mid-morning or later in the afternoon. I offer morning, afternoon, and evening appointments so that my clients have many options for scheduling.

What is your favorite mental health mantra?

My mental health mantra is that self-care is medicine! Whether it’s a haircut, massage, acupuncture, or spending time alone, it is all essential for a healthy mind, body, and soul.

What is your personal favorite self-care activity?

Yoga is my personal favorite self-care activity because it is both physical and mental. When I’m not practicing yoga I enjoy acupuncture and cupping because it is more effective than a massage as it works on an energetic level.
